Course Overview
The Occupational Certificate: Health Promotion Officer (SAQA ID 94597, NQF Level 3) is a 163-credit qualification designed to empower individuals to improve community health outcomes. This program equips learners to assess health needs, promote health awareness, and provide basic interventions within households and communities.
The curriculum covers public and community health, psychosocial support, and navigating health systems. Practical modules focus on health promotion, HIV prevention, maternal and child health, and community mobilization. Work experience modules provide real-world application. Internship Requirement
This programme requires that the student undertakes an internship for a minimum period of 6 months in relevant industry after completing the in-class academic study. There is an opportunity for job placement assistance through our industry network after graduating depending on availability.
Qualification Obtainable
On completion of the program, student will receive an Occupational Certificate: Health Promotion Officer provided the practical and experiential learning has been observed.
